BIRDS
Carving birds is where it all started for Peter. As an adolescent, growing up on a dairy farm, he learned to make things out of of scrap wood found on the property. In his thirties he started to carve decoys and learn wood carving skills. Peter has always had a strong affinity for birds of all kinds. In 2000, after the ice storm, he realized that he could capture these magnificent animals in larger pieces, and started to use a chainsaw as the main tool to complete projects. This also led him to change his style of carving from realistic decoys to a rustic, folk-art type style that incorporated the natural form of the wood pieces he was using and resulted in each bird being one-of-a-kind.
Please contact Peter to discuss having a one-of-a-kind bird sculpture created for you.
